Premature Ejaculation – Does Thinking of Something Else During Sex Really Help?

One of the most popular solutions that are offered to men who suffer from premature ejaculation, is to simply think about something else when you feel you are about to ejaculate. The idea is that by doing this, you will be able to stop yourself from becoming over aroused, which is the main culprit for causing you to ejaculate quicker than you would like. I disagree, and here is why;

First of all, when you are having sex with your partner, both of you are there to enjoy the lovemaking session to its fullest. In order to do this, you need to appreciate every feeling and sensation that you are feeling. This is one factor that can never be ignored when your self and your partner are trying to have a satisfying lovemaking session. Therefore, by turning these thoughts off, you are not doing yourself any justice. If anything, it is an unsatisfying temporary fix. In the end, you will still be stuck with the same problem every time you make love with your partner.

In addition, you are also cutting off part of that connection between yourself and your woman. And sooner or later, she will realize that. Another issue that will arise, is that you will become more anxious. By trying very hard to forget about something, it becomes more of a chore than something you can actually enjoy.

Here is a better solution;

Focus all your thoughts and energy in learning to understand every sensation you are feeling when making love to your partner. By doing this, you will begin to have a better understanding of your body’s sensations, as well as where the threshold is in terms of when you are about to ejaculate or not.

Keep in mind that it is a process that does take some time. The quicker your able to accept this, the easier it will be to learn to control when it is you would like to ejaculate. Also, communicate openly with your partner about your problem. By doing this, you are allowing her to help you in the process.

In the beginning, you can use sex positions that don’t overly stimulate your penis during intercourse, thus helping you to relax more and focus your thoughts on those sensations you are experiencing. One position which is great for this is the "woman on top". This sex position allows you to lie down on your back and simply relax all your muscles, thus preventing you from flexing certain muscles that make it easy for a man to become more aroused and ejaculate.

By taking the time to understand your problem, and to learn what is your feeling in terms of the sensations you are receiving during intercourse, you will find it becomes a lot easier to overcome premature ejaculation. The best part is that this approach is not a quick fix. Instead, it offers a permanent solution to your problem.
