Anal Intercourse – Understanding the Anus and the Rectum

Very few people can achieve an orgasm through anal sex only. There must be some genital stimulation in order for them to climax.  Women will most likely orgasm from a combination of contractions of the pelvic muscles, and from excitement of anal penetration. In the case of men, it will be from stimulation of the prostate gland. The more both parties relax and feel comfortable, the more the sensations will lead them to orgasm.

Many people feel uncomfortable with the thought of anal sex. This is because they believe it will make them extremely dirty. This is not entirely true. The rectum only acts as a passage way for feces. It does not store any excrement until just prior to a bowl movement. After a bowl movement, there may be a small amount of residue left in the rectum. This is why it is recommended to wear a condom for hygiene.

The rectum will tilt forward and tilt further again after a few inches. It is not straight and you can explore the shape of your rectum by inserting a clean soft object. You will be able to feel how it moves inside your rectum as you change angles and positions. To prevent any possibility of losing the object in the rectum, make sure the end of it is as wide as possible.

If you would like to feel your sphincter muscles, insert your finger one half inch into your anus. Then gently press the sides and you will feel them. The sphincter muscles have two parts; the external and internal. The external muscle can be tensed and relaxed by you, as it is controlled by the central nervous system. The internal muscle is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. You will not be able to tense or relax this muscle; it will react to fear or anxiety, causing your anus to tighten.

When engaging in sexual intercourse, care should be taken. The lining of the rectum can tear easily from too much force.

The Largest Misconceptions of Anal Intercourse

For the majority of people, the thought of anal intercourse causes them to flinch. This is because they believe it is painful. Like with vaginal intercourse, the first time may cause a little pain. This is just because the anus needs time to get used to penetration.

If pain is experienced, it can be due to the receiver being very tense, causing the anal canal to tighten. Or the giver may be forcing penetration, or there is too little lubrication. It is important to take things slow until you have become used to it.

Here are 6 Steps needed to have a more pleasurable experience with Anal Sex;

Hygiene is extremely important. Having a good shower or bath before having anal sex or any other sexual activity, is highly recommended. Also, once a penis or sex toy is inserted inside the rectum, make sure to never insert it anywhere else unless it has been thoroughly cleaned with soap and water.

It is highly recommended to use water based lubricants. The anus does not produce enough of its own lubricant.

Always listen to your partner’s needs. If they need you to stop, do it immediately. If your partner is tense, you will only cause them pain. Wait until they are more relaxed.

When engaging in anal sex, use plenty of lubricant and go very slow. There is no need to push or force things.

Having the desire to have anal sex is not enough to ensure it will be pleasurable.

Communicate with your partner at all times. Find out what they like or need to make the experience enjoyable.
